Sightseeing tours
TRAVEL: SIGHTSEEING
When we travel we look for fun and enjoyment be it lying on the beach doing, well, nothing or roaming around a foreign city and enjoying the sights, art, historical features etc. In some countries, visiting historical sites is not free. You either need to pay at the entrance or produce a voucher or sightseeing pass that you can obtain when making online bookings for your travel.
One of the main reasons people travel to foreign countries, across borders, overseas and into different continents is to see the historical landmarks, monuments, cultural heritage, nature, landscapes etc. that distant lands hold within them. Sydney Opera house, the Statue of Liberty, the Victoria Falls, the Niagara Falls, whether it be natural wonders or man made wonders, we all want to pack our bags, catch a plane, check in, go out and discover a new city and take as many pictures as possible. That’s what makes us decide to travel to a certain destination.

Scuba diving tours and trips
TRAVEL: SCUBA DIVING
So what is scuba diving? It is defined as the use of Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus which enables an individual to stay underwater for periods longer than an average human being can hold their breath. So what is it that drives people to take a scuba diving trip? Well, for starters, three quarters (75%) of the planet earth is covered by water. Scuba diving is a way in which human beings can explore under water life and catch a glimpse of a fraction of the deepest of the deep blue sea.
There are different types of scuba diving like open water diving, wreck diving which specifically takes divers to ship wrecks, cave diving, night diving, ice diving and more. Most holiday makers take a diving trip and these are usually open water diving trips. Open water diving trips are primarily for eco-tourism and focus on taking tours for underwater sightseeing purposes.

Hiking tours and trails
TRAVEL: HIKING TRAILS
So this month, Travelin Head jets off to South West Africa, and lands in Windhoek, Namibia. This trip is to experience a hiking trail with a difference. Namibia is a country with coastline and a desert, the Namib Desert to be precise. The landscape varies from dry grasslands, to desert land and dunes, mountains and hills, and ofcourse the ocean.
Windhoek is the capital city of Namibia. So we hired a vehicle and took a drive out of the city, about 20kms to a game reserve park called Daan Viljoen. The park has camping facilities, comfortable accomodation, barbecue facilities and it is a fun destination for the whole family.
